MTC introduces CallMe service
It is a USSD-based service whereby MTC customers can request that a third party user call them back. There is no charge for the service and, most importantly, no airtime balance is required to send this message.
Simply type: *150* followed by the cell number of the person # send (green phone)
The other party will then receive an sms requesting them to call you back.

The Tango Free 7 to 12 rateplan has been upgraded to offer customers a call tariff of only 29c after the first full minute of conversation. This is valid for calls at any time of the day.

MTC gives N$ 250 000 aid to the flood victims
In a campaign to support the efforts of the Emergency Management Unit of Namibia, we at MTC will be commiting all the MTC to MTC revenue generated on 7th Feb 2008 in aid of the flood victims. 3000 mosquito nets have also been pledged towards the plight in aid of managing possible malaria outbreaks. MTC Reduces out of bundle data rates
We are pleased to announce a reduction of our out of bundle data rates for GPRS /Edge and 3G/HSDPA by 50% for Contract and 75% for Tango.
This means that MTC customers now pay as little as N$1.00 per mega byte effectively as of 5th November 2007.
For our Tango customers the fee drops to N$1.00 per mega byte, which is an effective 75% reduction from the previous N$4.00. And for our Contract customers it drops to N$1.00 per mega byte a reduction of 50% from the previous N$2.00.
This price decrease is a demonstration of MTC's commitment to offer all our customers improved data access at affordable rates. Happy surfing!
Free Smses EVERY Friday (extended till end April 2008)
MTC now offers you a new Class of Service (CoS) on Tango called Tango Special Rate. It will offer Free SMS from MTC-to-MTC numbers all day on Fridays. Any SMS’s to other networks will still be charged at N$0.40.
The mechanism is that any Tango customer must call 134 and select Tango Special Rate to be migrated to this CoS. There is NO charge to move to this rate plan. All other aspects of the new rate plan are based on Tango Day / Night. This means that customers migrating from Tango Standard will also receive better call rates. Customers will remain on this rate plan until or when if they decide to move again. We have also waived all migration costs between packages. This means that the N$5 charge no longer applies between any of the new Classes of Service (Tango Standard, Tango Per Second, Tango Day / Night and Tango Special Rate). Get connected NOW.
Tango Night & Day: Don't forget to sign up for this amazing product
MTCs a new prepaid product in our Tango line called Tango Night & Day allows you to have a third package choice for your prepaid usage from the existing Tango Standard and Tango per second packages.
Tango Night & Day has two simple rates: Day (10am to 10pm) at N$1.80 (friends and family at N$1.70) per minute and Night (10pm to 10am) at N$1.00 (friends and family at N$0.95) per minute for all MTC-to-MTC calls. All other national calls i.e. calls to Namibian Telecom numbers and Cell One are rates at N$2.50 per minute.
Dial 134 from your Tango phone to migrate to this new product. Each migration is charged at N$5.00.
