Both community activities and commercial sponsorships provide an excellent means of engaging broad and diverse audiences for a multicultural organisation such as ours.
Sport
Sport sponsorship comprises almost two thirds of the global sponsorship market nationally and also absorb bulk of MTC’s social responsibility budget.
MTC focuses on those sports or activities which enjoy a high profile within target market segments and afford MTC the greatest opportunities for commercial exploitation.
MTC supports sports which:
- project a clean, healthy, dynamic image
- have a high profile and media exposure as part of the package
- provide a strong platform for linked promotional activity
- offer a combination of initiatives which range from
- youth/amateur ranks to full professional levels to reinforce our broad commitment
Main focus areas are:
- Soccer
- Rugby
- Golf
- Cricket
- Some specific Community Events
Sponsorship of individuals is not recommended under normal circumstances but can be considered under exceptional circumstances.
The Arts
The arts are a good means of targeting a selective and often aspirational audience. The arts can add prestige and stature to the MTC Brand through image association and offer access to a range of audiences.
On another level, the arts are an effective means of helping people to think, and encouraging the development of skills for life. Whether the individual is a participant or a spectator, the arts encourage creativity, observation skills, confidence, reasoning, ability, lateral thinking and interpersonal or social skills.
MTC supports community arts programmes targeted towards youth and special needs groups.
Broadcast Sponsorship
Broadcast sponsorship involves the attachment of the sponsor’s brand to programming initiatives which can be run across a variety of broadcast media including TV, radio and cinema. This enables MTC to brand entertainment, documentary or sports programmes.
The endorsement of programme content will take different forms but usually involves display of the MTC brand during breaks and/or programming.
Areas Avoided:
- Political, partisan or sectarian associations
- Direct support for individuals
- Churches
- Schools
