MTC's HomePhone is a concept in mobile telecommunication technology that allows you to use a mobile cell phone device as a home phone. This is a prepaid service without long term commitments, monthly payments or inconvenience and delay of a landline installation. You can enjoy special rates when calling from home.
You can use normal Tango recharge vouchers to top-up your HomePhone account. Please ensure you are at home or at the location from where you will operate your HomePhone and follow the easy steps bellow:
1. Insert your Tango SIM card provided with your HomePhone.
2. Immediately dial 145 from your new HomePhone (Nokia 1200) to activate it. This call must be made from your location where you wish to use your HomePhone.
3. Please have the following information ready as you will need to provide this to the contact centre advisor:
» The cell number of your HomePhone unit. The number can be found at the back of your starter pack.
» A contact number other than the HomePhone unit. Any other phone number will suffice.
» Your physical address.
4. A Customer Contact Centre Advisor will register your HomePhone on our system within 24 hours.
5. A Customer Contact Centre Advisor will contact you to confirm your activation.
6. Start calling from your HomePhone.
The following will apply should you decide to move from your current location where your HomePhone is registered:
» A fee of N$100 to re-register your HomePhone at a new location.
» Follow the same procedures as mentioned under points 2 to 4.
Remember to keep the starter pack holder and the sim card holder in a safe place. It contains your PUK codes and also serves as proof of ownership.
