High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a 3G protocol which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) technology to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity.

Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4 Mbit per second, with MTC currently supporting 1.8 Mbit per second.

Maximum achievable speeds under ideal conditions and configuration are: • Download speeds of up to 1.8 Mbits per second • Upload speeds of up to 384 kbits per second |
